About a third of our walk-in guests at Susie Spa in La Habra are first-timers. Over the years we've heard pretty much every question that goes through someone's head before their first massage. Here are the 22 most common, answered honestly.
Money and booking
1. How much is it? $40 for 30 minutes, $60 for 60 minutes. $80 / $120 for couples sessions. Posted at the front, same every visit.
2. Do I need to book ahead? No. Walk in any day 9 AM โ 10 PM. Call 818-660-6999 if you want to lock in a specific time.
3. Do I have to tip? No, but most guests do โ 15 to 20 percent in cash directly to the therapist.
4. Do you take credit cards? Yes โ Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover. Cash also fine.
5. Is there a membership pitch? No. No membership, no auto-renewal, no upsell during the session.
What to wear
6. What should I wear in? Whatever's comfortable. Loose clothes are easiest to slip back on after the session.
7. Do I undress for the massage? To your comfort level. Most guests keep underwear on. Some prefer fully covered. Some go without. All are normal.
8. Where do I change? In the private room with the door closed. Therapist leaves the room while you change, knocks before re-entering.
9. Will I be covered during the massage? Yes โ you stay covered with clean sheets the entire time. Therapist only folds the sheet back over the area being worked on.
The session itself
10. What style should I pick? Swedish if you mostly want to relax. Deep tissue if you have specific muscle pain. If you can't decide, just say "I'm new" and we'll recommend Swedish. See our Swedish vs deep tissue guide.
11. What if it's too firm? Just say so. Therapist will adjust immediately.
12. What if it's not firm enough? Same โ just say so.
13. Will I have to talk? No. Most guests stay quiet. Talk only if you want to.
14. What if I fall asleep? Many guests do. It's a compliment, not a problem.
The single most important thing first-timers should know: you're in control of your comfort the entire time.

17. Are the sheets clean? Replaced between every guest. Massage table wiped down with hospital-grade cleaner between sessions.
18. What if I need a bathroom break? Just ask. Therapist will pause the session and step out.
After the session
19. How long is the whole visit? About 75 minutes for a 60 minute session โ including check-in, changing, and payment. About 40 minutes for a 30 minute session.
20. Will I be lightheaded after? Mildly, yes. Sit on the edge of the table for a minute before standing. Drink water before driving.
21. How often should I come back? Once a month for general maintenance. Weekly for chronic pain reset for the first month, then monthly. See our how often guide.
22. What if I want to come back same week? Totally fine. No rules. Walk in whenever your body tells you to.

A few practical reminders
If this is your first time looking at our spa or comparing local options in La Habra, here are a few small but useful things to keep in mind. Our front desk is happy to answer any question before you commit to a session โ there is no pressure at all to book if you are still deciding. Walk in just to see the space and ask questions if that helps. Many regulars did exactly that on their first visit and only booked a session after seeing the lobby and asking a few questions about the rooms and pricing.
Our location is at 151 E Imperial Hwy Suite B, La Habra, CA 90631. Free private parking is right outside the door. We are open every day from 9 AM to 10 PM, including weekends and most holidays. Pricing is the same every visit: $40 for 30 minutes, $60 for 60 minutes, $80 for 30 minute couples, and $120 for 60 minute couples. Cash and major credit cards accepted. Tips appreciated in cash but never required.
For city-specific tips on coming over from Brea, Fullerton, Whittier, La Mirada, Buena Park, Anaheim, or any of our other 14 nearby cities, we have dedicated pages for each one covering the best routes, easiest hours, and what regulars from that area tend to book most often.
If you want to dig deeper before booking, our complete La Habra massage guide is the long-form overview that covers everything in one place โ services, pricing, walk-in flow, what to expect, frequency recommendations, and answers to twenty of the most common questions. It is the best single resource if you want a full picture before stopping by.
The local angle that matters most
Our regulars at Susie Spa come from across north Orange County every week โ La Habra, Brea, Fullerton, Whittier, La Mirada, Buena Park, Hacienda Heights, Yorba Linda, Placentia, Anaheim, Santa Fe Springs, Rowland Heights, Diamond Bar, Cypress, and Pico Rivera. The mix is one of the things that makes our small spa feel like a real local place rather than a chain. Office workers from Brea corporate parks, students from Cal State Fullerton, families from Whittier hills, commuters from La Mirada heading home before the I-5 traffic kicks in. Same friendly therapists, same honest pricing, every visit.
If you are reading this and live anywhere within a 10 mile radius of our location, the drive over is short โ usually 8 to 18 minutes depending on which city you are coming from. Free parking is always at the door. We are open every day from 9 AM to 10 PM, so even after a long workday or a busy weekend, there is always a window when you can walk in for a 30 or 60 minute reset. That kind of consistent availability is exactly why our walk-in model works for the local crowd in this part of the county.
One last note
The best way to know whether our spa is a good fit for you is just to walk in once. Pick a quiet weekday afternoon between 11 AM and 4 PM. Try a 30 minute Swedish at $40 if you want to test the experience without committing to a full hour. There is no pressure, no membership pitch, and no expectation that you become a regular. Many of our long-term guests started exactly that way โ one quick visit, then another two weeks later, then a regular monthly rhythm. The whole model only works because every visit feels worth coming back for.
The best first massage is the one where you stop worrying within the first five minutes โ and that's exactly what we're here to make sure happens.
